Derbyshire Wayfarer Bus Tickets Get Smarter!
We may have seen the last of the hottest summer weather, but there are still plenty of decent days and nights to enjoy before autumn creeps in, so why not take in the best of what Derbyshire has to offer with the digitally enhanced Derbyshire Wayfarer Bus ticket?
This companion pass to the multi-transport Derbyshire Bus & Train Wayfarer was launched in April 2023 as a discount ticket funded by Derbyshire County Council and is available as a one day or seven-day pass, allowing almost unlimited bus travel throughout Derbyshire for an entire day or week.
You can purchase the one day pass on board a bus, but to increase the availability of advanced purchase tickets to customers, one day Derbyshire Wayfarer Bus tickets are now available as a mobile ticket or mTicket, which can be loaded and stored to your smartphone through the TravelMaster app. This can be downloaded through Google Play and the Apple App Store or via the TravelMaster website, which also has more information on how to use mTickets, including a how-to-buy video guide.
Once you are registered on the TravelMaster app, all you need to do is press the ticket icon in the top right corner of the Tickets screen. This takes you to your mobile tickets wallet where you can buy tickets. Just press 'buy tickets', then the 'Derbyshire' option and follow the onscreen instructions.
John Henshall, General Manager of TravelMaster said of the upgrade:
“We are delighted to have been able to launch one day mTickets for the Derbyshire Wayfarer Bus range. This improvement is part of our goal to make the tickets as accessible as possible whilst working in a complex environment.
This is the first step in a range of measures which will help both passengers and drivers to deliver a better customer experience.”
Work is currently underway for further improvements which will also bring Derbyshire Wayfarer Ranger Tickets into the mTicket range available through the TravelMaster App.
You can find out more about ticket process and participating bus operators on the Take the Bus section of the Travel Derbyshire website.
